Sweden: Woman accused of taking her child to ISIS in Syria against the father’s will
A 31-year-old woman in Sweden is accused of taking her two-year-old son to Syria to join the extremist group ISIS.
Under the guise of going on holiday in Turkey in 2014, the woman allegedly took the child to an ISIS-controlled part of Syria.
The woman was arrested when she and her son returned to Sweden in November.
The boy’s father currently has sole care of the child, who is now eight years old.
During the case, Lund District Court determined that the mother took the child to an environment that is obviously not suitable for a small child against the father’s will.
