Sweden’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is asking all Swedes to leave Ukraine.

The Ministry asked Swedes in Ukraine to be prepared to leave the country at short notice.

The Swedish embassy in Kyiv estimates that there are 200-300 Swedes in Ukraine at the moment.

On Saturday, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also asked Norwegian citizens to leave Ukraine due to the security situation in the country.

“Right now, people can book a ticket home, there are still scheduled flights, and it is possible to get out by car. But we do not know how long this will continue, so it is important that people get home as soon as possible,” Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt (AP) told NTB.

The Ministry also advised against all travel to or staying in Russia closer than 250 km from the Ukrainian border and all travel to Belarus with the exception of the capital Minsk.
