A Swedish woman in her 70s is receiving intensive treatment after getting a blood clot, which is a rare side effect of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine.
A Swedish woman in her 70s is receiving intensive treatment after developing a rare blood clot variant, which is a rare side effect of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine.
The woman is the fourth person in Sweden to have the rare combination of a blood clot and a low platelet level.
She was generally healthy before she received the vaccine a week ago, the Medical Products Agency stated.
The case has been reported to the EU Medicines Agency (EMA).
