One of the Taliban’s delegates, who is in Oslo to meet Western representatives, has been reported to the police. Kripos states that the case will be handled in the usual way.

“I can confirm that we have received a report, and Kripos has registered it in the usual way. The case will be processed there. We can not comment on what will happen next with the case,” public prosecutor Marit Formo told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

The reported delegate is Anas Haqqani. He is connected to the so-called Haqqani network, which is accused of being behind several terrorist attacks.

He is the brother of Sirajuddin Haqqani, who leads the Haqqani network. The network was behind the attack on the Serena Hotel in 2008, where the Norwegian journalist Carsten Thomassen was shot and killed. Jonas Gahr Støre (AP), who is now prime minister, was at the hotel as foreign minister when the attack took place.
