Friday’s storm has affected Telenor’s network in, among other places, Innlandet and Viken. The company is working hard to improve the situation when it comes to mobile and broadband coverage.

“We have tripled our crew and are working hard. In collaboration with contractors and the power companies, we’re doing everything we can to remedy the situation. Among other things, we’re repairing fiber cables that have been damaged. Now that the power is back, the situation for the mobile network and Telenor’s services is also improving,” coverage director Bjørn Amundsen in Telenor Norway said.

According to the company, the municipalities of Nordre Land, Etnedal, Vestre Slidre, Vang, Tinn, Tokke, Flå, Sigdal, and Rollag have been hardest hit by the effects of the storm.

“The situation has been very confusing and complicated at times. Especially because falling trees tore down lines or blocked large and small roads,” Amundsen said.

In Valdres, more than 100 poles with fiber cables have been destroyed between Bruflat and Beitostølen.

“The consequences of the storm are very extensive, especially in Valdres,” Amundsen added.
