The British coronavirus variant will account for more than half of the positive samples in a short time, according to the National Institute of Public Health’s (FHI) director Camilla Stoltenberg.

In the course of a week, the FHI expects to get a clearer picture of the British virus variant’s share among the total of infection cases in Norway.

The FHI assumes that it will amount to more than half in a short time, Stoltenberg said at Wednesday’s press conference.

“Possibly four to eight weeks from now, but also maybe earlier. We will get a clearer picture during the week,” Stoltenberg noted.
