Only 4 percent of young are smoking every day.The Cancer Society sees signs that cigarettes eventually will be phased out.
Fewer young people than ever are smoking. In the age group 16-24, there is now only 4 percent who are daily smokers, according to the annual tobacco figures from Statistics Norway (SSB).
– This is very gratifying. We now see the outline of a smoke generation and the results of many years of tobacco prevention. If the adults  now also get several new tools to quit smoking, then we might witness a future without smoke, said Secretary General Anne Lise Ryel in the Cancer Society.
