A total of 230 people were at an isolation hotel in Trondheim on Tuesday, and over 30 are on the waiting list.

Municipal director Morten Wolden in Trondheim told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) that the capacity of the isolation hotel is under a lot of pressure, which leads to some having to isolate themselves at home.

Health and Welfare Director Wenche Dehli in Trondheim told the channel that they have tried to increase capacity with help from, among others, the Armed Forces and other lines but have not succeeded so far.

“But we get great help from the hotels. They are really willing to help us,” she said.

Trondheim Municipality has recently struggled with a lot of coronavirus cases, especially among people in their twenties. In total, at least 250 students from 56 fields of study in the city have recently been diagnosed with coronavirus.
