The Eastern Police District has so far registered 74 reports of violations of the regulations on quarantine hotels.

The reports apply both to Oslo Airport Gardermoen and national border crossings, police inspector Anne Utaker Langseth told newspaper Dagbladet.

“The cases are under investigation, and it is therefore too early to say anything about the outcome,” the police inspector said.

Everyone who comes to Norway from what is considered unnecessary travel abroad must stay in quarantine hotels at their own expense for at least seven days.

The Eastern Police District has previously stated that they do not intend to arrest people who violate the quarantine obligation but that such persons would be reported.

The fine is around NOK 20,000.
