More extreme weather is on its way to Norway. Tor will lash the western coast with violent force Friday afternoon and evening,  the Meteorological Institute  warns.

The forecast applies for Oppland, Hedmark, Buskerud, Rogaland, Hordaland, Sogn and Fjordane, More and Romsdal and Trondelag.

Northern Norway and the rest of Eastern Norway will  be safe  for now, meteorologist on duty Mariann Foss said.

The origin is a low-pressure area which  is expected to develop into a hurricane  on Friday morning in the waters around Shetland. Friday afternoon and evening, it is expected that the low-pressure area will move into the northern part of the North Sea and later towards western  Norway and Trondelag.
