The government postpones entries on residence permits

Handling of residence cases is resumed after being reduced in priority due to the corona crisis. But the possibility of entry is delayed further.

“The government believes that entry restrictions so far are a necessary measure to protect public health. This means that applications for a residence permit can be processed in accordance with the regulations, but there are restrictions on entry for the time being for some with a residence permit,” says Justice Minister Monica Mæland (Høyre) in a press release.

The Immigration Administration has not prioritized processing of foreign applications because of the corona measures. Nor have they issued entry visas to foreigners who require a visa and have already been granted a residence permit in Norway.

Exceptions apply to minors who will be without necessary care if entry is denied. In addition, exceptions may be made for family reunions.
