The Government withdraw the residence permits for anyone who has joined the IS. This means that only IS participants with Norwegian citizenship can return.

VG reports. Justice Minister Jøran Kallmyr (FRP) says the government will instruct the Directorate of Immigration (UDI) to withdraw both temporary and permanent residence permits for anyone with an IS connection:

“They will therefore not have the right to return to Norway,” says Kallmyr to the newspaper.

Kallmyr says Norway has so far had an obligation to accept both Norwegian citizens and foreign warriors of foreign origin with a Norwegian residence permit.

Now the last group will lose all their rights in Norway, according to the instruction.

Kallmyr says there are no reliable figures on how many people will now lose their residence permit, but he says it applies to more.

FrP lead Siv Jensen announced in her speech to the National Assembly earlier this past Friday that the Government will instruct the UDI to refuse family reunification in Norway for persons with IS affiliation who apply for it.
