Transfer refugees who are lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender persons must, for the first time, be prioritized both as a group and as an individual.

– “Unfortunately, in many countries, it is not so that you are free to love who you want. In nearly 70 countries, homosexuality is a criminal offense and those who violate gender and sexuality norms may be subject to persecution and discrimination in their home country. It can give the right to protection in Norway. We are now changing the guidelines for the work of transfer refugees so that persons who are divorced should be given priority,” says the State Secretary for Integration Affairs in the Ministry of Education, Grounds Kreek Almeland (V), in a press release.

A transfer refugee is usually registered as a refugee with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). As the UN promotes the applications for the transfer refugees, the UDI decides which of them will be allowed to come to Norway. Parliament has decided that the quota for transfer refugees this year should be 3,000 people.

The outbreak of corona has resulted in the withdrawal, travel, reception, and settlement of transfer refugees. Together with the UN, for example, the government will resume work as soon as practicable, it is announced.

The Norwegian scheme is three-year and flexible, which means that if fewer refugees are taken out one year in the period, they can be taken out several years after.

A lot of my friends ( lgbt ) had to wait a long time , some still are waiting
It can take over a year before the procedure, interviews with immigration, starting
The position for them in the camps here are bad ( very homophobic people )
Happy i can give some of them a shelter until the procedure starts
