The Green Party’s (MDG) Rasmus Hansson believes that the alcohol-serving ban must be lifted immediately because it is hostile to business, the newspaper Dagbladet reports.

“We want an end to the absolute alcohol-serving ban. Immediately,” the parliamentary representative told the newspaper.

On December 16, the Norwegian government decided to introduce a number of new corona measures, including a national alcohol-serving ban.

Many companies in the nightlife industry fear bankruptcy, Dagbladet writes. 47% say they see a real danger of bankruptcy, according to an NHO member survey.

“There are too many jobs and companies that could go bankrupt because of this. The total alcohol-serving ban must end immediately,” Rasmus Hansson, the MDG’s business policy spokesman, stated.

He wants the government to allow restaurants to serve a glass of wine with their food and allow for local adaptations.
