All the country’s municipalities have been invited to a meeting with the health authorities on Friday morning, ahead of the government’s press conference on the corona situation and the reopening of the country.

Several municipalities told the newspaper VG that they had been summoned to the meeting, which will take place from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

According to the notice, Minister of Health Bent Høie (H) will attend and chair the meeting. In addition to the municipalities, the county governors, the municipal sector’s organization KS, the FHI, and the Norwegian Directorate of Health will also participate at the meeting.

The theme will be the dialogue about the contents of “normal everyday life with increased preparedness” – i.e., the term the government uses for the reopening of Norway, according to the newspaper.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Health and Care Services told NTB that there would be no notification of a full reopening during the press conference on Friday. According to VG, however, only the date for the reopening is not ready yet. The government has also not presented any plan for how a reopening will be carried out and what the municipalities must prepare for.

On Thursday, it was also announced that 82% of the population over the age of 18 had been fully vaccinated. However, the government wants to reach 90% before the reopening.
