Almost all intensive care units at Akershus University Hospital are now filled by Coronavirus patients. Now the hospital is asking other hospitals for help.

Ahus has a total of 62 patients who are hospitalized with the Covid-19 infection, 24 of them are in intensive care. Of these, 15 patients are on respirators.

At the same time, the hospital currently has 27 intensive care units. Thus, almost all the places were filled even before the wave of Coronavirus patients was expected.

The hospital has now asked to borrow respirators from other hospitals, the website aldrimer.no writes.

On Monday, Southeast Health will also consider whether patients should be redirected to other hospitals to a greater extent.

Ahus is now stepping up its intensive capacity, and plans to increase the number of beds to a total of 33 in the first round. In addition, an additional 32 beds are planned to be created.
