The Conservatives (H) and the Labor Party (AP) in Stavanger believe it is time to introduce corona certificates in the Municipality.

“The current situation is, of course, difficult for the nightlife sector, the cultural life sector, and all related workplaces. But we should also not underestimate the importance these social arenas have for the mental health of most people,” the AP’s group leader in Stavanger, Dag Mossige, told the newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad.

Schools and kindergartens in Stavanger are currently operating at the “yellow” level, but Mossige believes that the time has now come for introducing corona certificates.

“Those who choose not to be vaccinated put not only themselves at risk, but also others. That’s why we’re in lockdown now. Corona certificates would open up for differential treatment. We believe the time has come for that now,” Mossige said.

Consequences of lockdowns

National authorities must give their approval for corona certificates.

“We are very positive about corona certificates. We can not continue to shut down society; the consequences are too great,” group leader Sissel Knutsen Hegdal in Stavanger’s Conservatives (H) told the newspaper.

Before Christmas, Minister of Health Ingvild Kjerkol (AP) said that a new legal framework on corona certificates would be sent for consultation over the New Year.
