The leader of the Young Liberals of Norway (Unge Venstre), 26-year-old Sondre Hansmark, plans to resign at the youth party’s national meeting in November.

The announcement that he is resigning comes three days after the parliamentary election, where the Liberal Party ended up with a support of 4.6%. In a Facebook post, Hansmark wrote that he plans to resign after four years as leader of the youth party.

“I will resign as leader at our national meeting in a few weeks. I have had four absolutely fantastic years, and I am so proud of everything Unge Venstre and Venstre have achieved,” Hansmark wrote.
