The government’s goal is that everyone with symptoms of Coronavirus should be able to test themselves during the month of May, says Minister of Health Bent Høie (H)
Høie provided the information at the government’s daily press conference on the Corona situation in Norway.
In March, drastic measures were taken to reduce the spread of infection in Norway, but on Monday the Minister of Health said that the spread in society is now so low that we can cautiously open up again.
“But in order for us to maintain control as this happens, we have to track the infection even better and test even more,” said Høie.
– We are stepping up testing, and during May our goal is that everyone with symptoms should have the opportunity to test themselves. The groups that are now prioritized for testing are teachers and students, as well as staff in the school leisure system, said Høie.
The number of infected persons in Norway is 7,533 per Monday.
