Minister of Health Bent Høie (H) urges people among the population and the business community to take voluntary measures to save human lives as a result of the outbreak of the coronavirus.

– “Today I have urged everyone to join in voluntarily. In the health service, we will now work purposefully and continuously to prevent the spread of infection and to ensure that the seriously ill receive health care,” says Høie at a press conference on Wednesday evening.

“But this job is not only done in the health sector. All sectors of society must contribute.”

He talked about the importance of good health practices such as washing hands and avoiding hand greetings and hugging.

– “When we all do this together, voluntarily, we slow down and limit infection that is harmless to the most of us, but which is very dangerous for a few. Then we are all taking the voluntary measures that will save lives,” says Høie.
