The municipalities’ test capacity varies widely
Bergen and Trondheim have the opportunity to test anyone who wants to be tested for corona infection. In Oslo, on the other hand, there is no guarantee of being tested even with symptoms.
Trondheim has the capacity to analyze ten times more tests than is currently being carried out, and Bergen reports the capacity to test everyone who wants a test, according to a review by NRK.
The situation is different in Oslo, where advice of the National Institute of Public Health is followed strictly, and symptoms of respiratory infection do not automatically provide access to testing.
“This is a resource situation that is about people, about contamination equipment, about test capacity and about tracking capacity,” says Robert Steen, Health Councilor in Oslo.
