On Thursday, the Dutch government stated that it would take in five women and their eleven children from Syria. All the women are suspected of terrorism.

A special operation has been launched to get the women and children back to the Netherlands, Minister of Justice Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius and Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra wrote in a joint letter to the National Assembly in The Hague on Thursday.

The women will be arrested on arrival so that they can be prosecuted, while the children will be taken care of by a child welfare organization.

The Dutch government decided to bring the five women home after a court in Rotterdam last year announced that the cases against them would be dropped if they were not brought back to the Netherlands within a few months.
