A joint study among the Nordic countries has been initiated to map, among other things, the production capacity for vaccine production in the Nordic countries.

“The Norwegian health industry is a knowledge-intensive industry in growth. We have good environments within the fields of medicines and medical equipment development. This study will provide useful knowledge about opportunities for joint Nordic co-operation within the development of vaccines,” Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre (AP) stated.

Last year, Sweden took the initiative for Nordic co-operation, which will map the resources of both public and private companies when it comes to the development and production of vaccines in the Nordic region.

From the Norwegian side, Innovation Norway contributes to facilitating dialogue with Norwegian expert environments.

The work is expected to be completed during the spring.
