With over 150,000 downloads, the poster on “habits that prevent infection” has become a common sight during the pandemic. It has also been hung up in Zambia.

The real number of downloads is probably much higher. The poster from the FHI and the Norwegian Directorate of Health has also been copied in ways/channels that cannot be supervised and measured, the newspaper Avisa Oslo writes.

Communications consultant Thomas Berg in the Norwegian Directorate of Health posed as a model on the poster early in the pandemic. The poster has been translated into 31 languages.

Extreme demand

“There has been an extreme demand for the posters throughout the pandemic. I know, among other things, that it has been hung up in an office in Zambia, where a couple of friends live,” he said.

Even though Berg’s face is covered by a paper handkerchief or elbow on the poster, several people have recognized him.

“Bent Høie and Ingvild Kjerkol recognized me and asked: ‘Is it you on that poster?’

Berg is not the only model that has been recognized during the pandemic. The illustration image of NTB photographer Håkon Mosvold Larsen in the home office has been frequently used by the media.
