In an additional bill that will soon be presented to the Norwegian parliament (Storting), the government will propose spending NOK 5 billion on corona test purchases, the newspaper VG reports.

The price tag for the total package that the government will propose is close to NOK 9.5 billion.

In addition to NOK 5 billion for corona tests, the package contains NOK 1.5 billion to ensure that Norway can still receive safe vaccines through EU cooperation, NOK 700 million for access to effective medicines against corona, and NOK 200 million for infection control equipment.

In addition, the package includes NOK 1.5 billion to compensate the hospitals for increased costs, as Minister of Health Ingvild Kjerkol (AP) stated in her hospital speech on Tuesday.
