The Norwegian Medicines Agency has received 33,287 reports of suspected side effects after corona vaccination. Out of the total, 2,914 have been classified as serious.

With more than 7.6 million vaccine doses had been administered in Norway, the Norwegian Medicines Agency has received 33,287 reports of suspected side effects. Of these, 18,054 have been processed. 2,914 have been classified as serious, and 15,140 have been classified as not serious.

Reports are made based on suspicion, and therefore it is not a given that there is actually a causal connection between the negative effect and the vaccination, the Norwegian Medicines Agency states.

As of Tuesday, almost 220,000 children and young people from 12 to 17 years of age had received at least one vaccine dose. For this group, the Norwegian Medicines Agency received and processed 44 side effect reports. Of these, eight were classified as serious.

“Studies and experiences after vaccination have shown that children generally get the same common side effects as adults, such as headaches, fever, muscle aches, and joint pain,” Steinar Madsen, medical director at the Norwegian Medicines Agency, stated.
