Twice as many injured themselves on electric stand on scooters this spring compared to the same period last year. Most accidents happen at night on weekends.

A report shows from the Oslo emergency department, which was presented on Friday.

In the course of one year, 815 people have visited the emergency room after injuring themselves on an electric standing scooter. Men injure themselves more often than women – 63 percent of those injured were men – and they are also somewhat older, with an average age of 30 years.

– “It is the injuries in connection with alcohol use at night that worries us the most,” says chief physician at the Oslo emergency department, Henrik Siverts.

The report covers the period 1 April 2019 to 1 April 2020.
