According to the capital’s united political opposition, there is an urgent need to establish an independent corona commission in Oslo. The opposition fears that the experiences from the crisis will be forgotten.

“Experiences and what we remember from the crisis are fresh. It is easy to forget these if too much time passes by,” leader of the Oslo Conservatives’ City Council group Anne Haabeth Rygg told the newspaper Aftenposten.

The Conservatives (H), the Liberals (V), the Christian Democrats (KRF), the Progress Party (FRP), and the People’s Action No to More Road Tolls want an external corona commission to evaluate how the municipality has handled the pandemic.

“We ask that this be established as soon as possible,” the proposal submitted to the City Council states.

City Council chief Raymond Johansen (AP) says that the first part of a comprehensive evaluation began already in April and that the first report has been submitted.
