The 400 temporary police positions created in connection with the Coronavirus situation will be maintained throughout the year.
This was stated by the Minister of Justice and Emergency Management Monica Mæland (H) on Tuesday.
– “The pressure on the police is still great. The police will crack down on parties and gatherings harder, that both disrupt order and are a violation of infection control restrictions,” she says.
Mæland believes the police have handled the challenging situation in a good way.
– “Then we must make sure that they have the resources they need to be able to do their job. That is why I am glad that we have been able to extend the 400 police positions throughout the year,” she says.
