Police have received several tips in connection with the violent fire on Sotra. So far, there is no indication that the fire has been started on purpose.
The information was confirmed to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) by the sheriff in Askøy and Øygarden, Torgils Lutro.
He says the police have checked out some tips but that none of the tips led to any breakthrough in the investigation.
“So far, two neighbors have been questioned. There is no indication that the fire was started on purpose, but the police are not ruling anything out.”
On Friday, the Western Police District announced that they had started a broad investigation to determine how the fire started. On Friday, forensic scientists carried out their investigations.
The first reports came from Fjæreidevegen on Kolltveit. The sheriff told Bergensavisen that police know exactly where the fire started.
