The Pride flag outside Melhus town hall has disappeared. Mayor Jorid Sagtøyen (Sp) reacted strongly to the news.

“This is really bad,” Mayor Jorid Jagtøyen (Sp) told newspaper Trønderbladet.

Jagtøyen believes that the flag disappeared the night before Saturday because she received a report that the flag was gone on Saturday.

At first, she thought it was a misunderstanding and that the flag was taken down.

“This could be a joke in connection with Camp Melhus, and if it is, people will be forgiven if they return the flag,” the mayor noted.

“But if they don’t think that Melhus should have a Pride flag, they can call me. I will buy more Pride flags so that we have more in case someone tries to take down the flag,” Jagtøyen told the newspaper.

In Oslo, the police have launched an investigation after several Pride flags in the capital have been stolen or destroyed.
