The Royal Norwegian Ship with Queen Sonja on board was among the many who attended the traditional Slinningsbål in Ålesund on Saturday night.
This year, the fire was not allowed to be seen from land, and the municipality, the police and the campfire urged people in advance to stay home and follow the ignition and burning via live broadcast.
Many chose to see the bonfire from the sea, among them the queen. She was previously in Geiranger on Saturday, reports NRK.
