Municipalities report that more and more people are asking for the Moderna vaccine for their booster dose. Recently, FHI director Camilla Stoltenberg mentioned that Moderna was her first choice.

The FHI has recently been clear that Moderna gives a better effect than Pfizer, and recently, Moderna received more praise from the FHI director, who wants to get the Moderna vaccine as her third dose.

“It is because I think it can increase the possibility of getting good protection overall,” Stoltenberg said.

Several municipalities that the newspaper VG has talked to report a sharp increase in interest in the Moderna vaccine after Stoltenberg’s comments.

“It was like flipping a switch. We have many who are switching from Pfizer to Moderna,” vaccine coordinator Lalja Lyseggen in Lillestrøm Municipality said.

The same indication comes from Sandnes and Bergen, while in Bodø, Tromsø, and Oslo, there does not appear to be any “Stoltenberg effect.”

The vaccine manufacturer Moderna itself states that their booster dose can increase the antibodies in the body between 37 and 80 times and works well against the omicron variant.
