The Storting, which is the Norwegian parliament, has recently been subjected to a comprehensive IT attack. Burglary (stealing of information) has been registered in the email accounts of several parliamentary representatives.
“We are taking the matter very seriously, and we are focussing solely on analyzing the situation to get an overall picture of the incident and the potential extent of damage”, says the Storting’s director Marianne Andreassen in a press release.
The Storting’s analysis shows that various amounts of data have been downloaded in connection with the burglary of the email accounts of what they themselves refer to as “a small number of Storting representatives and employees”.
