US President Joe Biden has reintroduced entry restrictions for almost all non-US citizens from a total of 30 countries, including Norway.

The entry ban applies to people who have been to Brazil, South Africa, Norway, and 27 other European countries during the last two weeks before entering the United States.

It takes effect on Tuesday.

The United States has previously had entry bans from all the countries in question, with the exception of South Africa, which is now included due to fears of a mutated virus variant.

In his last days as president, Donald Trump adjusted the travel restrictions.

The adjustment was made in consultation with US infection control authorities, who demanded that all travelers to the US have a negative corona test a maximum of 72 hours before boarding a plane to the US.
