There is a big difference between police districts in Norway when it comes to issuing fines for breaches of quarantine hotel duty.

More than half of all such fines in Norway have been issued by the Western Police District, Norwegian Broadcasting’s (NRK) review of the cases so far this year shows.

While the Eastern Police District has dealt with 270 cases of breach of quarantine hotel duty and only issued eight fines, the Western Police District has fined 25 people. The police district did not reveal how many cases it has handled.

The Western Police District stated that they work actively to comply with the infection control regulations.
