The UK’s prime minister comes to Parliament on Tuesday. May will speak during the opening of the Nordic Council sessions.

It is the Nordic Council President of 2018, Michael Tetzschner (H), who has invited May. He looks forward to the visit and believes that continued good cooperation with the UK, even after brexit, is important for the Nordic countries.

“The UK is one of the most important partners for the Nordic countries, not least in the terms of trade, finance and security. We have a very good relationship with the UK and will work for our relationships to be excellent in the future. Good cooperation continues to benefit all parties,” said Michael Tetzschner.

Before her speech, Theresa May will have a meeting with Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H).

The Nordic Council delegation of Parliament is hosting this year’s session in the Nordic Council, where 87 parliamentarians from the Nordic countries participate, as well as guests from among others the Arctic Parliamentary Committee, Baltic Assembly, West Nordic Council, EFTA Parliamentary Committee, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament and the Benelux Parliament.
