On Tuesday, the police carried out an operation against a criminal network in the transport industry in the Oslo area and Sandnes Municipality in Rogaland.

A total of 40 police and tax officials participated in the coordinated operation carried out at six different addresses.

“Three people were arrested, and one person is still wanted in the case,” police attorney Andreas Meeg-Bentzen stated.

According to the police, those involved are charged with gross tax evasion and gross money laundering. Police are investigating the detainees as part of an organized criminal group, which indicates an increased sentence of up to 12 years in prison.

“The tax authorities have made a very important effort in the case so far, and will contribute further in the investigation. This is a good example of what the collaboration between different agencies can accomplish,” Meeg-Bentzen noted.
