Stop Islamization of Norway (SIAN) was met with a counter-demonstration at Tøyen torg in Oslo. Three people were brought in by the police because they were trying to get over the barriers to SIAN.

The protest began at 1 pm Saturday.

Barriers were set up between SIAN and the counter-protesters. According to NRK, three people were brought in by the police because they were trying to get into SIAN’s area.

Oslo Police District states that SIAN’s demonstration is legal.

The protest may attract a counter party who disagrees with the message. The police are on site to ensure freedom of expression and safeguard the safety of all parties.

According to Dagbladet, the counter-protesters – several hundred in number – were among others from Red Youth, the Trade Union and Tøyen for everyone, and some may have also thrown eggs, fruits and bottles at SIAN’s people.
