The Prime Minister will hold a press conference on Friday. During the conference, she is expected to announce when new relief will be implemented or when the government hopes it will be possible.

According to NTB’s sources, there will be no major surprises at the press conference that Erna Solberg will hold at 11:30 AM. She will address the next step in the reopening of the country.

The Prime Minister will announce when the next step can occur, or at least when the government hopes it can occur.

Two hours after Solberg’s conference, there will be a press conference in Oslo.

There, City Council chief Raymond Johansen will inform the public about the reopening of the capital. Among other things, it is expected that there will be long-awaited news about when the capital’s restaurants and bars will be allowed to serve alcohol again.

The relief in Oslo could be introduced as early as Thursday next week.

Several local outbreaks

The infection in Norway has not fallen as much as the health authorities had hoped since the reopening began. There have been several major outbreaks in municipalities without local measures after the first step in the reopening.

While the number of infection cases in Oslo has plummeted, the number of infection cases nationally is still high, with 505 new registered cases in the last 24 hours. In the capital, 109 new cases of infection were registered in the last 24 hours.

The May 17 celebration and the Eid celebration have led the FHI and the Norwegian Directorate of Health to recommend that the government postpone step 2 of the reopening for a while.

Earlier, the government said that step 2 would start in the second half of May.
