From today, it will be more expensive to drive a car in Oslo.

For motorists who live outside Oslo and drive into the city within the inner toll area, the price increase amounts to around NOK 300 a month, according to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

For electric cars, outside rush hour, prices increase by around NOK 400 a month. Nevertheless, petrol and diesel cars have to pay, on average, twice as much as electric cars.

The price jump is the first of two hikes adopted before the summer. The second will take place on January 1, 2024. In total, prices will be, on average, around 40% higher than before.

The new prices, before discounts, are NOK 28 per pass for petrol and hybrid cars. During rush hour, the cost will amount to NOK 34.

For diesel cars, it is more expensive, NOK 32 and NOK 37 respectively. Electric car owners will have to pay NOK 14 outside rush hour and NOK 17 during rush hour.
