Torrential rain expected in several places in Norway

The Østafjells areas and Rogaland are likely to experience heavy rain showers between Monday and Tuesday. From Tuesday to Wednesday, the same is expected in Trøndelag and Nordland.

A yellow danger warning for torrential rain has been issued in the said areas, according to Yr.

“From Monday evening, periods of heavy rain are expected, first in Østfold, later in the rest of Eastern Norway and Agder. By nightfall, it is also expected in Rogaland. There will be large local variations in the intensity and amount of rain, and the weather can change quickly,” Yr stated.

Locally, there can be between 15 and 30 millimeters of rain per hour.

For Trøndelag and Nordland, there is uncertainty related to where the rain showers will hit, and there will be large local variations in rain intensity. Locally, there can be over 15 millimeters of rain per hour.

People are advised, among other things, to stay away from steep slopes and streams with a large flow of water, as well as to adjust their speed and drive in line with the road and weather conditions.
