On Friday, Hong Kong International Airport announced a ban on stopovers for passengers from more than 150 different countries, including Norway.

The ban on stopovers is the latest escalation of Hong Kong’s already strict travel restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The list of affected countries includes Norway, the United Kingdom, the United States, Sweden, France, and Denmark.

“Transit services via Hong Kong International Airport for all persons who have stayed in these countries for the last 21 days will be suspended,” the airport wrote on its website.

The measure will take effect on Sunday and will initially last for a month.
