Troms Police District tightens corona rules for foreign seafarers
Troms Police District has chosen to refuse to issue land permits to foreign crew members on ships, but exceptions are made for a number of groups.
Exceptions are made for all foreign crew members who are residents in Norway and all crew members who are EU / EEA citizens and work on a Norwegian registered ship, newspaper VG writes.
The reason for the decision is to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Crew members who are denied land permits are not allowed to leave the quay area. The decision applies from February 17 to April 30.
