So far, 20 soldiers at three military camps in Indre Troms have been confirmed as infected in the corona outbreak in Tromsø.

Nine soldiers were diagnosed with the infection on Thursday. All of them are connected to the outbreak at Heidi’s Bier Bar in Tromsø, Major Erik Skomedal, spokesman for the Army, told newspaper Nordlys.

Three of the soldiers are in the Setermoen camp, twelve in the Bardufoss camp, and five in the Skjold camp.

Multiple soldiers were on leave in Tromsø this weekend during a corona outbreak at one of the nightclubs.

Many soldiers in quarantine

The infected people are now in isolation. In addition, many soldiers are in quarantine.

On Thursday, Tromsø Municipality asked people who took the bus between Tromsø-Narvik / Øverbygd on Sunday to consider testing themselves. The infected soldiers who were on leave in Tromsø last weekend took a bus back to the camps.

“Now, fellow passengers on route 100 (Tromsø-Narvik) and route 105 (Tromsø-Øverbygd) on Sunday are asked to be aware of symptoms and consider getting tested,” the Municipality wrote in a press release.
