Tromsø: Man charged with rape and exploitation of Ukrainian refugee pleads not guilty

The man in his 20s who is charged with rape and exploitation of a 17-year-old Ukrainian girl in Tromsø does not admit criminal guilt in the case.

Police lawyer Kjersti Mari Nilsen in the Troms Police District confirmed the information to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

The man has previously been charged with assaulting eleven other women in another criminal case. The man was remanded in custody for four weeks on Saturday.

Earlier the same day, the police announced that he was charged with rape and exploitation of the 17-year-old. The incident is said to have happened on Thursday night, and the man was arrested later that evening.

The two had agreed to meet at the man’s home after being in contact on social media.
