A total of 175 new cases of corona infection have been registered in Trondheim in the last 24 hours, 145 more than the day before.

“The infection rate today is far higher than yesterday,” municipal chief medical officer Tove Røsstad stated.

She says it is not uncommon for the numbers to be lower on Mondays, which may be due to less testing on the weekends, and lower analysis capacity at the hospital this weekend.

According to Røsstad, some positive samples may have been reported after the infection detection team completed the work on Sunday, so these appeared in today’s figures.

“It is therefore important that you not only look at infection rates for one day but keep in mind the development over several days. The picture is most accurate if you compare it week by week,” she noted.
