Trondheim: 2,596 new corona cases registered during the weekend

A total of 2,596 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Trondheim on Friday and Saturday – a new record in the Municipality.

On Friday, 1,368 new corona cases were registered in Trondheim. On Saturday, the number was 1,228.

The previous infection record was set on Thursday, January 20, with 1,160 cases in a single day. At the time, municipal chief medical officer Tove Røsstad in Trondheim said that they expected new records.

On Monday, 16 patients were admitted to St. Olav’s hospital with COVID-19. Of the total, three patients were in intensive care, and two were on respirators.
