Municipal director Morten Wolden in Trondheim threatens to tighten the measures if the inhabitants do not start following the current recommendations more seriously.

Earlier this week, Trondheim Municipality issued a recommendation on the use of face masks in public places where it is not possible to keep at least one meter of distance from others.

At a press conference on Friday, Wolden said that the recommendation has only 5-10% compliance on the buses.

“Disappointed”

“It is too bad, and I am disappointed,” the municipal director said before he asked the residents to follow the recommendations and be more careful.

The Municipality will now spend the next two or three days to see if people follow the recommendations.

“If not, we must recommend stronger measures. We can not put ourselves in a situation where the infection takes over, and our health services are placed under even more pressure,” he added.

In the last 24 hours, 209 new corona-infected people have been registered in Trondheim. More than half of the newly infected people are under 20 years of age.
