Mayor Trondheim Rita Ottervik is asking the government to ease the quarantine rules in school and working life in line with the new infection records.

“There are many healthy people sitting at home today instead of going to work. And there are many healthy children at home instead of school. There must be relief, this week, I think,” Ottervik told the newspaper Adresseavisen.

Trondheim has set new infection records in recent days. On Friday and Saturday, a total of 2,596 new cases of infection were registered, which means that many families have been quarantined.

Ottervik told the newspaper that the most important thing now is to keep the Municipality’s services functional despite the record numbers.

On Monday, the Municipality will decide whether there is a need for local corona regulations in Trondheim.
